Goofiez, a new hybrid weed strain from noted breeder Compound Genetics, is a cross of two hype strains of flavours: Apples & Bananas and Jokerz. These parent strains hail Girl Scout Cookies, Gelato, and Runtz lineages. Goofiez is extremely high in THC with superb indica-hybrid effects that soothe aches and pains. Goofiez has an impressive bag appeal. It is mostly violet, with some darkened green and burnt-orange foliage. The leaves are so covered in trichomes that the only different anatomy is the outline of lateral veins on the leaves. The trichomes are very abundant, with long basal glands and massive, perfectly matured resin glands.
The nose on Goofiez is quite something. It’s sweet, tart, fruity, and richly composed of a variety of diesel gas, candy flavours, mixed berries, citrus zest, and vanilla cream. The aroma has an essential oil-like depth to it that envelops the senses with an artificial tang—reminiscent of actual candy! Breaking the flower open further ramps up the presentation into a deep ambrosial funk remarkable for caramelized sugar notes, candied fruit undertones, and hints of cacao.
Goofiez not only smells delightful, but it tastes even better. It’s sugary and tangy with a doughy texture and a faintly sour fruit flavour, like concentrated fruit juice. It also has a confectionary, creamy vanilla taste that gets stronger as you smoke, making the overall experience more enjoyable. Additionally, it tends to stain your teeth and coat your mouth after smoking Goofiez, giving you an anxious feeling from the first hit which subsides into relaxation eventually. Overall, it’s still a delicious treat that reminds me of starbursts if they were coated in sugar; however, starbursts don’t have any staining effect or make somebody feel uneasy after consuming them.
